After Fourth of July, I took a short trip to Los Angeles to visit Mike Prijatelj and Nick Sukhov. I hadn't seen Mike in 2 years and Nick in 6. I unfortunately came at the worst time of year, where the daytime temperature rose up to an unbearable 45°C.

I took Nick and his girlfriend to the Griffith Observatory to see the full panorama of Los Angeles as well as the famed Hollywood sign. We also went to the Hollywood Hall of Fame and the LA County Museum of Art. In a cooler evening, we watched an outdoor movie in Pasadena over some free ice-cream.

On different days, Mike gave me a tour of the rather compact Caltech campus, and we visited the Norton Simon Museum.
